i have two cats and i really don't want them anymore. i have had them for about two months. i really do like one of them, but the other one annoys the crap out of me. the one i like throws up hairballs all the time and while i feed him hairball formula catfood, it doesnt seem to help. i have to vaccum about once a day because of all the cat hair. they just kind of bug me. whenever im eating i have to lock them in a different room because just seeing them while im about to eat makes me gag. i think i might be just too lazy for them. and while they piss me off and everything, i feel really bad getting rid of them. i know that here they are well fed and groomed and taken care of, but they are not really loved. the only thing that really motivates me to care for them is guilt. and the one cat, i do really like...i just feel terrible getting rid of him. i dont know whats worse -getting rid of them to go to god knows who? or for them to live here with someone who doesnt have the energy or motivation or the ladlords permission for them? i dont know..if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, please. im trying to decide what to do and i need input from people who dont know me.

Please take your cats to your local humane society or shelter. They deserve a chance at a life where someone loves and cares for them and doesn't just "put up" with them. The fact they get sick isn't their fault, anymore than your getting sick is your fault. They are gorgeous, intelligent, aware animals and deserve more than you can give them in your selfish state.

I know this was originally posted quit a while ago, but I have to say that this just angered me and almost made me sick. I truly hope that these cats were adopted by someone who will love them and spoil them for the rest of their lives. angry

Hi,
I was just looking over this board..
and this sounds like a message to just get a rise out of people. But of course we all hope "if" it is true, that these cats were placed in caring persons home.
though I know some ignorant people enjoy annoying other people.. so this story could be just that "a story" made up to piss people off.

hi. i wrote that post, like, last summer. and it was true. seriously, a selfish person would have just dumped them off outside somewhere. a selfish person would have never come to this site, signed up and asked a question about what to do.

im just not a cat person. you people need to chill out.

oh, and just so that everyone can settle down, i took my cats to every animal shelter in my area (about 5) and every single one told me that they weren't taking cats. i had to take them back to the original owner.

i cared about them very much. if i hadnt, i would have never gone to so much trouble. the problem was that i just didnt like them very much.

and another thing, if you have enough time on your hands to go around making judgment calls about people who you dont know who post a serious question on a message board, then i would say that you need to do some major self-evaluation.

The fact that you don't like cats is not a problem. They're not for everybody. But when you sit there and talk about how disgusting and annoying they are is just sad. And yeah you probably do care, but you make it sound like they're some object that is just an inconvenience to you. It's also not fair. I have a 5 year old cat that was just diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and I have been doing everything possible short of a kidney transplant, and then here you are complaining about how your cats are gross and annoying.

Exactly, its not that you dislike cats. It's the fact you come online and go on about how horrible they are. Your not any better than those who like to make comments like "those dogs are ugly" or "weirdo looking dog" at my pug and it pisses me off everytime its said! It's just ignorant to be that rude infront of people who actually love those animals. If you didnt like cats then why did you get them in the first place? Thats what I don't get. Everyone knows they have the hairball issues, I knew that before i owned mine and that they shed a lot especially if they have long hair then hair clumps end up all over your house. Your post seemed so out of place. It's one thing to come on here to ask for help in getting rid of two cats but to rant on about how much you dislike them seemed a little cold hearted considering your on a "cat" board where you are surrounded by loving cat owners. Please use better judgement in the future.
