Moving pets to perth from Minneapolis

Hello,

I am still in Mpls, but would be moving to Perth for a job. We have two cats who would move with us. While I have got all the informaiton we need for the transport, we'd very much like to hear from others who might have gone through similar moves. How do cats do during the trip? What's the statistics for animals getting lost or dying during transit? Also, I'd really like to know if spiders and snakes are problems for cats in the backyard or not. My cats are used to go out in the garden. Will they be able to that in Perth? Will they get bitten by spiders?

Please tell us everything you know about the welfare of domestic pets in Perth. We are worred sick.
